It is not safe to mehndi / henna a child under 6 months of age, as their skin is very thin, and their body's acid-balancing mechanism is not well established. It is not advisable to henna children under the age of 6 . . . if for no other reason than they are not likely to hold still for very long, and are apt to spoil their patterns.
